According to the TV channel, Israel fired missiles at a three-story residential building located in the Hay al-Madi neighborhood. Eyewitnesses reported that a member of the military leadership of the Shia group Hezbollah lived in the apartment that was hit. He was killed in the explosion, the TV channel noted. The name of the slain commander was not given.

Earlier, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) press service said that an air raid on Beirut had eliminated a Hezbollah commander responsible for military coordination with the radical Palestinian movement Hamas.
