CAIRO, March 26. /TASS/. Almost 40 people have been killed and more than 120 injured in the Gaza Strip over the past 24 hours as a result of fighting in the Palestinian enclave, the Gaza Health Ministry reported.
"Over the past 24 hours, 39 dead and 124 injured were admitted to hospitals, the total number of victims of Israeli actions since the resumption of hostilities on March 18 is currently 830, the number of injured is 1,787," the ministry said in a statement posted on its Telegram channel. The ministry emphasized that the total number of victims in the Gaza Strip since October 2023 has risen to 50,183, with another 113,828 Palestinians injured.
On March 18, the Israeli army launched massive attacks on the enclave. The office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu explained that the radical Palestinian movement Hamas had rejected the proposals put forward at the talks by the mediators and the special envoy of US President Steven Witkoff, saying that the goal of the operation in Gaza was the release of all hostages. The radicals blamed Israel and the United States for the resumption of hostilities.
