MOSCOW, March 25. /TASS/. The US will monitor compliance with the agreements that delegations from Kiev and Washington reached in Saudi Arabia, and third countries could also play roles, Vladimir Zelensky told reporters.
"We understand that in fact, we have agreements with the US, and for us, the US is the one responsible for monitoring. As for third countries <...> it could be Turkey when it’s about the sea. And as for the energy industry, it could be Saudi Arabia. Right now, it’s all just ‘could be.’ Someone has to monitor it all," Zelensky said.
He pointed out that agreements on a ceasefire in the Black Sea and a ban on strikes against energy sites had been reached in Saudi Arabia.
Riyadh hosted talks between the delegations of the US and Ukraine on March 23. A meeting between Russian and US officials took place in the Saudi capital on March 24. On Tuesday, the Washington and Kiev delegations held another round of talks in Saudi Arabia. The White House said in a written statement after the meeting that the US and Ukraine had agreed to ensure safe navigation in the Black Sea and develop measures to implement an agreement to ban strikes against energy facilities in Russia and Ukraine. In addition, the parties welcomed the "the good offices of third countries with a view toward supporting the implementation of the energy and maritime agreements.".
