Russia's supreme mufti conveys greetings from Bahrain's king to Putin

Talgat Tajuddin said that King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa held a large conference representing the entire Islamic world

MOSCOW, February 24. /TASS/. Talgat Tajuddin, Chairman of the Central Spiritual Directorate of Muslims of Russia and Russia's Supreme Mufti, passed along greetings from King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain to Russian President Vladimir Putin during their meeting.

"I came from Bahrain with part of the delegation of the Central Spiritual Directorate of Muslims of Russia. His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa sends you his warmest regards. We were at his reception, where he held a large conference representing the entire Islamic world," the mufti said.

"This high-level forum, which brought together even Muslim minorities, saw my support for the Minister of Awqaf Affairs of Sudan in advocating for the Muslim Council of Elders to become the highest body issuing modern fatwas for the entire world - not just for Arab Muslim countries but for all Muslims globally. Its chairman would become the Supreme Mufti of the world. Everyone supported this idea, and it was included in the Manama Declaration," he added.
