ANKARA, December 10. /TASS/. Ankara will not let anyone divide Syria or stage provocations to prevent Syrian refugees from returning home, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said.
"Let’s be clear about something: from this moment forward, we cannot permit Syria to be divided again. We will never accept the country becoming a conflict zone once again. We will not tolerate any steps or provocations aimed at preventing our fraternal Syrian people from returning to their homes. We will stand together with the Syrian people against any attack on their freedom, the stability of Syria’s new administration and the integrity of the ancient Syrian land," Erdogan stated in an address to members of Turkey’s ruling party in Ankara.
The president pointed out that Turkey "will not stand by and watch others drown the region in blood and set it on fire for the sake of their fanatical beliefs and perverted ideas." "The lessons we’ve learned from the developments in Syria, the ongoing tragedy in Palestine and the war in the north underline the need for decisive action. We seek security, peace and prosperity for all. In order to ensure our own security, peace and political and economic stability, this is the climate we need to create across the region," the Turkish leader stressed.
