TBILISI, December 2. /TASS/. Georgia’s Prime Minister Irakly Kobakhidze considers it "immoral" to involve schoolchildren in anti-government rallies being held in Tbilisi.
Earlier, representatives of opposition parties called on students as well as school teachers to go on strike, not to attend school and to take part in protests. Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili supported the opposition’s call.
"From a moral point of view, this (involving students in protests - TASS) is unjustifiable and inexcusable. This is just the latest immoral act," Kobakhidze told a news conference.
Another wave of protests started in Georgia on November 28 after Prime Minister Irakly Kobakhidze said that the ruling party Georgian Dream - Democratic Georgia had decided to postpone any talk about the country joining the European Union until the end of 2028 and to refuse any money from the EU. He said that the move was in response to constant attempts at blackmail by the EU regarding the start of the accession dialogue, demands to cancel a number of laws adopted by the parliament and calls to sanction the Georgian authorities.
