Serbia lauds development of bilateral ties with Russia — Serbian parliament

The senior Serbian lawmaker stressed the importance of parliamentary diplomacy and hailed the activities of groups for cooperation with Serbia in both houses of Russia’s parliament, adding that the Serbian parliamentary group of friendship with Russia "is traditionally one of the largest."

BELGRADE, November 29. /TASS/. Relations between Russia and Serbia are developing thanks to regular meetings at various levels, deputy speaker of Serbia’s parliament Marina Ragus said.

"Deputy speaker of the National Assembly and chairperson of the international committee Marina Ragus and members of the committee met with the delegation of the committee for international affairs of Russia’s Federation Council (upper parliament house - TASS) led by committee chairman Grigory Karasin. The two countries’ delegations discussed the current geopolitical challenges, bilateral and inter-parliamentary cooperation, as well as close ties between the two peoples. Ragus expressed satisfaction with the visit by the Russian delegation, especially its leader Grigory Karasin, who paid his last visit to Serbia 25 years ago. She noted that bilateral relations between the two countries are developing extensively thanks to regular meetings at all levels - from the heads of state to lawmakers, representatives of executive authorities and religious communities," the press service of Serbia’s parliament said.
