Hamas says it destroyed about 800 units of Israeli military equipment since October 7

The spokesman said that the radicals would not agree to any hostage exchanges before hostilities in Gaza end

CAIRO, December 28. /TASS/. Hamas has destroyed or seriously damaged more than 800 pieces of Israeli military equipment in the Gaza Strip since the situation in the area escalated on October 7, said Abu Ubaida, a spokesman for the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas.

"Since the beginning of the Israeli aggression in Gaza, 825 pieces of Israeli equipment have been destroyed," Abu Ubaida was quoted as saying by Al Jazeera television.

The spokesman said that the radicals would not agree to any hostage exchanges before hostilities in Gaza end.

"There are no exchange deals that we could accept before the aggression against the Palestinian people ends," Abu Ubaida said.

The situation in the Middle East sharply escalated following an incursion of Hamas militants from the Gaza Strip into Israel on October 7. Hamas has cast the attack as a response to Israeli actions against the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem. Israel has declared a complete siege of the Gaza Strip and started a military operation there. Israel also strikes parts of Lebanon and Syria in retaliation for bombardments originating from these countries. Clashes are also taking place in the West Bank.
