Problems created by West seen as impetus for Union State development — Lukashenko

The Western sanctions are "the time of possibilities," the Belarusian President stressed

MINSK, April 1. /TASS/. Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said on Friday he thinks that the problems created by the leaders who are losing global dominance will serve as an impetus to develop various spheres of activities in Belarus and Russia.

"I am absolutely convinced that we will ultimately cope with the situation, which is being whipped up by the leaders who are losing global supremacy and are hostile to our Slav unity and who consider themselves as global elites," he said, adding that that these difficulties will only "serve as an extra impetus for the development" in all spheres in Belarus and Russia.

He stressed that the Western sanctions are "the time of possibilities," since the withdrawal of Western companies is a chance for the development of the domestic market and own technologies.

According to Lukashenko, the Union State of Russia and Belarus can strengthen its positions through pooling human capital and expertise of the two countries. "It is an objective reality and those who have unleashed this hybrid war against us should reckon with," he added.
