Interior Ministry opens inquiry into CSKA fans’ behavior

The RFU’s Disciplinary Committee has fined CSKA 500,000 rubles ($7,900) and ruled to close six CSKA fan sectors during the club’s clash with FC Rostov in Moscow scheduled for August 22

MOSCOW, August 5. /TASS/. The Russian Interior Ministry has launched an inquiry into an indecent behavior of CSKA Moscow fans on Saturday, when they spewed race-hatred chants during the match against the Makhachkala-based football club Anzhi, the security director of the Russian Football Premiere League (RFPL) said on Wednesday.

The Russian Football Union’s Disciplinary Committee has fined CSKA 500,000 rubles ($7,900) and ruled to close six CSKA fan sectors during the club’s clash with FC Rostov in Moscow scheduled for August 22.

"The punishment is serious," Alexander Meitin told TASS. "It should somehow make those miserable fans to reconsider their behavior. But the work does not stop here. The Russian Interior Ministry has opened an inquiry into this case. We are in close contact with its representatives."
