MAKHACHKALA, April 3. /TASS/. Makhachkala’s Sovetsky District Court arrested two citizens of Tajikistan, detained during a counter-terrorist operation in Dagestan, Spokeswoman of the Supreme Court of Dagestan Zarema Mamayeva told TASS.
According to Mamayeva, the court received arrest requests from the investigation against two men, born in 2000 and 2003. According to the provided materials, the two citizens of the Republic of Tajikistan joined a group that is a subsidiary of an international terrorist organization, while staying on Russian territory. The court arrested them for 1 month and 28 days, until June 1, 2024, the spokeswoman said.
According to the investigation, in February 2024, the suspects, acting within an organized group, illegally procured weapons and ammunition, which they transported and stored at their residence in Kaspiysk, where they were discovered by the law enforcement.
Previously, the media reported that one detainee testified that he brought weapons from Makhachkala to Mytischi (Moscow Region) for the terrorists that carried out the Crocus City Hall attack.
