MOSCOW, March 22. /TASS/. Russian Railways (RZD) have transported over 16,000 refugees from Donbass, including 5,500 children, RZD CEO Oleg Belozerov said in the Federation Council Tuesday.
"We’ve organized an unprecedented transportation of refugees from Donbass to temporary accommodation points in Russia. Over 16,000 people, over 5,500 children have been transported from the Rostov direction," Belozerov said.
Earlier, RZD organized a transportation operation for passenger from the Black Sea coast. The company has been increasing the number of additional places in trains because the skies in Russia’s south is closed since late February.
