Russia hugely contributes to strengthening global healthcare in pandemic - minister

Mikhail Murashko added that this healthcare architecture should be based on the principles of transparency, openness and equal participation of all parties concerned

MOSCOW, November 12. /TASS/. Russia has grappled with the pandemic very well and helped countries in need, making a huge contribution to strengthening the global health architecture, Russian Health Minister Mikhail Murashko said on Saturday.

"Although the pandemic is still ongoing, we can say that not only has the Russian Federation coped with the threat with dignity, but it has also helped the countries in need, thus making a significant contribution to strengthening the global health architecture," Murashko said at the G20 Joint Finance Health Ministers Meeting, as quoted by the Russian Health Ministry.

"In particular, Russia has sent a number of missions to [foreign] countries to help combat the new coronavirus infection, implemented a range of international programs to consolidate readiness of the national health systems in countries in need to new challenges and threats, including with the participation of the WHO, and initiated drafting several resolutions of international organizations in the health sector," Murashko said.

The minister added that this healthcare architecture should be based on the principles of transparency, openness and equal participation of all parties concerned.
