"I would especially like to say thank you to the military doctors, paramedics, nurses and junior medical personnel of the hospitals belonging to the Defense Ministry, the National Guard and other military agencies, to those who provide medical assistance under shelling on the frontline, taking risks and sometimes sacrificing themselves," Putin told medics

ST. PETERSBURG, June 18. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin has thanked the health professionals who help people in the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics (DPR and LPR) and in liberated areas of Ukraine, and offered special thanks to the medical personnel who save the lives of participants in the special military operation.

"Russian medical workers are demonstrating their best qualities in helping citizens of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics and civilians in liberated territories," the president said on Saturday.

"I would especially like to say thank you to the military doctors, paramedics, nurses and junior medical personnel of the hospitals belonging to the Defense Ministry, the National Guard and other military agencies, to those who provide medical assistance under shelling on the frontline, taking risks and sometimes sacrificing themselves," Putin told medics. "We bow to you for the saved lives of our comrades-in-arms who are participating the special military operation."

Russia’s special military operation in Ukraine, whose goals include the demilitarization and denazification of that country, began on February 24. On May 25, Putin visited the P.V. Mandryk Central Military Hospital to check on Russian service members who were being treated there for their wounds suffered during the special operation. Then the president ordered the government to focus its attention on medical packages for participants in the special operation and to respond promptly and effectively to any needs of military medicine.
