MOSCOW, June 25 /TASS/. Russia will promptly review any request for assistance from Venezuela following the earthquake, should one be made, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters.

"Only a few hours have passed since this tragedy occurred. Judging by the information available so far, the number of victims is likely much higher than the figures currently reported by the media. If our Venezuelan friends submit a request, it will certainly be considered without delay," Peskov said.

An earthquake struck Venezuela on the evening of June 24. Two series of tremors with magnitudes of 7.2 and 7.5 were recorded approximately 40 seconds apart. Their epicenters were located 10 km from the Venezuelan state of Yaracuy. According to the country’s presidential representative, Delcy Rodriguez, at least 32 people were killed, another 700 were injured, and dozens of buildings were destroyed. Metro and rail service in the capital was suspended. Venezuelan authorities declared a state of emergency.
