MOSCOW, March 21. /TASS/. Chief of Russia’s General Staff Valery Gerasimov inspected the Battlegroup Center and its fulfillment of combat objectives in the special military operation area, the Russian Defense Ministry reported on Friday.
"Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, First Deputy Defense Minister Army General Valery Gerasimov inspected the fulfillment of combat objectives by large formations and military units of the combined arms army of the Battlegroup Center operating in the Krasnoarmeisk direction in the special military operation area," the ministry said in a statement.
During the work at forward command posts of motor rifle large units and the combined arms army, Army General Gerasimov listened to reports by the army commander, commanders of large formations and other military leaders on the fulfillment of objectives in the area of responsibility. Upon the conclusion of his work, the chief of the General Staff summed up the interim results with the military command of the Battlegroup Center and assigned it further objectives, it said.
At the command post of the combined arms army, the chief of Russia’s General Staff presented state awards to the military personnel who had especially distinguished themselves in liberating the Donetsk People’s Republic and thanked them for their valor and courage displayed in the fulfillment of combat objectives, the ministry said.
