Putin invites CIS leaders to attend Victory Day celebrations in Moscow

The Russian leader expects that military units from CIS countries will be able to take part in a parade on Red Square

IGORA /Leningrad Region/, December 25. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin has invited the leaders of Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) nations to Moscow to celebrate the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.

"My dear friends, we look forward to welcoming you to the May 9 celebrations in Moscow," Putin said, addressing the CIS leaders during an informal summit.

"We also expect that military units from CIS countries will be able to take part in a parade on Red Square," Putin added.

Earlier, the Russian president extended an invitation to military units from Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) countries to participate in the Victory Day parade.
