Russian troops in DPR’s Kurakhovo approach city council building — official

"Members of the Ukrainian territorial defense are attempting to leave Kurakhovo toward the settlement of Dachnoye to the west," Vladimir Rogov noted

MELITOPOL, December 10. /TASS/. The Russian Armed Forces have moved up to the city council building in the western part of the settlement of Kurakhovo in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), forcing Ukrainian troops to retreat to the industrial area, Chairman of the Civic Chamber Commission on Sovereignty, Patriotic Projects, and Support of Veterans Vladimir Rogov reported.

"As of early morning, the line of contact in Kurakhovo itself was practically within one block of the city council, which is located in the western part of the settlement," the official said during a live broadcast on the Komsomolskaya Pravda radio station.

According to him, the Ukrainian armed forces still control a minor section of the residential area, with Ukrainian units stationed on the territory of the thermal power plant and in the industrial area. "Members of the Ukrainian territorial defense are attempting to leave Kurakhovo toward the settlement of Dachnoye to the west," he noted. Rogov added that to the north of Kurakhovo, in Sontsevka, there is still a considerable Ukrainian force.

Earlier today, a source in the security forces told TASS that the Ukrainian armed forces were trying to largely shift the remnants of their battlegroup from Kurakhovo. There are still pockets of resistance left in the city, particularly at the Kurakhovo Thermal Power Plant.
