Kherson Region governor says Ukraine removes tanks from monuments to send them to battle

According to Vladimir Saldo, Lancet drone operators destroyed a Ukrainian T-55 tank on Monday

GENICHESK, March 12. /TASS/. Ukrainian forces in the Kherson area are experiencing a shortage of weapons that is so severe that they have to remove tanks from historical monuments to send them to the battlefield, Kherson Region Governor Vladimir Saldo said.

"Along the engagement line in the Kherson region, there were positional battles involving artillery, mortars and drones. The enemy has some numerical superiority only when it comes to FPV drones. In terms of real reconnaissance and combat drones, the Russian Armed Forces have the lead. The undoubted leadership in destroying Ukrainian equipment belongs to Lancet operators. For example, yesterday they destroyed a T-55 tank. Because of shortages, Ukrainian formations began to take into service equipment that was removed from monuments," he said on Telegram.

He also said Russian artillery "dominates the counter-battery battle and effectively destroys the positions of the enemy's manpower and military equipment" in the Kherson area. In the area of responsibility of the battlegroup Dnepr, Ukrainian forces lost 76 soldiers, a tank, an armored fighting vehicle, six artillery guns and mortars over the past day. Thirty-three drones were shot down or suppressed, and strikes were inflicted on 34 temporary bases.
