Clashes in Zaporozhye Region continue, but situation is under control — authorities

It is reported that about 70% of the Zaporozhye Region has been liberated by now

MOSCOW, October 17. /TASS/. The situation at the line of contact in the Zaporozhye Region is tense, but controlled, and any attempts by Ukrainian troops to break through are suppressed, Vladimir Rogov, chairman of the 'We Together with Russia' movement, told TASS on Monday.

"The situation is tense but under [the allied forces’] control, thank God, because we have received reinforcements: artillery, multiple rocket launchers and so on. Our guys are doing a good job targeting the militants when they move in and try to do something," he said.

Rogov specified that constant clashes take place in the Pologovsky and Vasilyevsky districts. "Subversive reconnaissance and assault groups constantly try artillery incursions, shelling and attempts to probe the territory," he explained.

"This is a constant situation right now. Nevertheless, our men are destroying M777 howitzers and similar groups that are advancing on the breakthrough, shooting down strike drones," Rogov stressed.

About 70% of the Zaporozhye Region has been liberated by now. The city of Zaporozhye remains under the Ukrainian control. Melitopol now serves as the regional center.
