Australian foreign minister announces sanctions against 67 Russians, says Reuters

"Today, I'm announcing 67 further sanctions of Russian elites and oligarchs, those close to Russian President Vladimir Putin who facilitate and support his outrageous actions," Marise Payne said

MOSCOW, April 7. /TASS/. Australian Foreign Minister Marise Payne has announced sanctions against 67 Russians over Moscow's special military operation in Ukraine, Reuters reported on Thursday.

"Today, I'm announcing 67 further sanctions of Russian elites and oligarchs, those close to [Russian President Vladimir] Putin who facilitate and support his outrageous actions," she told reporters as she arrived at the NATO headquarters in Brussels.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said on February 24 that in response to a request by the heads of the Donbass republics he had made a decision to carry out a special military operation in Ukraine, stressing that Moscow had no plans of occupying Ukrainian territories. The US, the EU and a number of their partners responded to the actions of the Russian authorities by slapping economic sanctions against Russia.
