Kremlin confident goals of military operation in Ukraine to be fully achieved

According to Putin’s press secretary, signing a document following talks between Russia and Ukraine will become an important step in normalizing the situation

MOSCOW, April 3. /TASS/. Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov has no doubts that Russia will achieve all the goals of the special military operation conducted in Ukraine.

"I am confident that the goals of our military operation will be fully achieved," the Kremlin official told the Russia-1 TV channel on Sunday.

He also asserted that it is possible to resolve the spiral of confrontation. "There are always ways out of any confrontation, out of any complex situation," he said.

According to Putin’s press secretary, signing a document following talks between Russia and Ukraine will become an important step in normalizing the situation. "I hope that as a result of those intensive efforts undertaken with regards to the Russian-Ukrainian talks, we will also move on to sign a certain document. And this will become an important step towards the normalization of the situation," he said.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said in a televised address on February 24 that in response to a request by the heads of the Donbass republics he had made a decision to carry out a special military operation in order to protect people "who have been suffering from abuse and genocide by the Kiev regime for eight years." The Russian leader stressed that Moscow had no plans of occupying Ukrainian territories, noting that the operation was aimed at the denazification and demilitarization of Ukraine.
