MOSCOW, July 27. /TASS/. Russia should expect the Kiev government to resort to provocative acts during the election campaign this fall, and should be ready for them, Russian Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov has told reporters.

He also said that Putin would have an important phone call this evening with a leader he refused to name, although he did clarify that it wouldn't be with Donald Trump.

Below are the official Kremlin spokesman’s key remarks.

Putin’s scheduled phone call

Putin will hold a phone call on Monday evening with an international leader, and while it won't be with Trump, it "is also very important."

Expanding geography of Ukrainian conflict

Expanding the Ukrainian conflict’s geography to Iran is extremely dangerous, and the Kremlin is aware of that. "This cannot be left unnoticed, of course," he said. "This is extremely dangerous, this constitutes a new escalation of tension. We need to fight against the Kiev regime."

Security at elections

Russian special services will ensure that this fall's single voting day is safe and secure. "[Security] will be provided. Our security services are working and taking all the required measures."

Russia should always expect provocative acts from the Kiev government, including during the upcoming election campaign, and be ready for them: "They can and should always be expected. And one must prepare for them."
