Lavrov calls on Russians abroad to cast ballots in legislative elections

The minister noted that the diplomatic agency is doing everything possible so that Russian citizens can fully realize their constitutional voting rights

MOSCOW, September 16. /TASS/. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has urged Russian citizens living overseas to actively vote in the upcoming State Duma (lower house of parliament) elections.

"Dear friends, I call on you to actively take part in the elections and support the party or the candidate who you trust the most. Each and every one of your votes is very important," Lavrov said in an address to Russian nationals residing or staying abroad.

The minister noted that the diplomatic agency is doing everything possible so that Russian citizens can fully realize their constitutional voting rights.

The elections to the 8th Russian State Duma (lower house) are scheduled for September 19, 2021, known as the Single Voting Day. The balloting process will span across three days - September 17, 18, and 19.
