Several explosions recorded in Russia’s Belgorod region, governor says

No casualties were reported

MOSCOW, April 1. /TASS/. Several explosions have been recorded in Russia’s Belgorod region, regional Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov wrote on Telegram.

"I have inspected the sites of the explosions. In Nikolskoye, it is far outside the settlement. A power line was damaged," he noted. "In Yasniye Zori, the situation is calm, no one was hurt. One of the blasts damaged a window in a residential building," the governor said, adding that no casualties had been reported in either of the settlements.

Gladkov also said that the power line in the Nikolskoye settlement had already been repaired and the damaged home in Yasniye Zori would be renovated as soon as possible.

A law enforcement source told TASS earlier that a munition fired from Ukraine had fallen on the territory of a fruit tree nursery in Nikolskoye.

On April 1, a fire broke out at a petroleum depot belonging to the Belgorodnefteprodukt company after the Ukrainian Armed Forces had carried out two airstrikes. The attack caused no casualties. The subsequent blazes that engulfed the fuel tanks prompted the local authorities to announce an evacuation of residents living on three streets adjacent to the facility. At least seven facilities in two of the region’s industrial parks are reported to have been damaged.
