Russian Finance Ministry expects Kimberley Process to remain diamond trade regulator

The Russian Finance Ministry also expects positive resolution of the unprecedently protracted issue of participation of the Central African Republic in the Kimberley Process

MOSCOW, November 7. /TASS/. The Russian Finance Ministry expects that the Kimberley Process will continue functioning as the mechanism of international diamond trade regulation, Russian Deputy Finance Minister Alexey Moiseev said on the verge of the plenary session of the Kimberley Process.

"We expect in this regard that within the framework of the forthcoming plenary session on November 12-15, 2024 in Dubai (the UAE) the Kimberley Process will continue functioning efficiently as a universal mechanism of regulating the international diamond trade in interests of the entire global diamond industry having no alternative," Moiseev said, cited by the ministry’s press service.

The Russian Finance Ministry also expects positive resolution of the unprecedently protracted issue of participation of the Central African Republic in the Kimberley Process, he added.
