Import substitution projects of Minsk, Moscow to be completed in time — Belarusian PM

Currently, 18 such projects are being implemented, which were presented by Roman Golovchenko, Chairman of the Council of Representatives of Belarus

MINSK, March 12. /TASS/. Projects of Minsk and Moscow in the import substitution sphere will be completed in time, Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko said in an interview with the Belarus-1 TV Channel.

"Import substitution projects will be implemented within the timeframe determined for them," Golovchenko said. Eighteen such projects are currently underway, he noted.

"The schedule is monitored weekly. Equipment procurement is underway for some of them, tenders are being held and production facilities are being prepared already for some others," the Prime Minister said.

A portion of import substitution projects implemented with the use of Russian credits is aimed at "becoming champions" - to get technologies that can serve as the basis to develop competencies and achieved a new technological level is a certain sphere, Golovchenko noted.

"I am speaking about the microelectronics sector in the first instance," the Prime Minister informed. "We have a plan to not merely deal with manufacturing of microelectronic products but also to develop domestic electronic machine-building," he added.
