Russian developer to build De Niro-branded Nobu hotel in UAE

The hotel will be located on the Al Marjan artificial archipelago

MOSCOW, January 31. /TASS/. Russian developer Vos’hod plans to build a Nobu chain hotel in the UAE, the company's press service said on Tuesday.

"The Vos’hod development company <...> as a fee developer will build the Nobu Hotel, Residences and Restaurant Al Marjan Island in the Ras Al Khaimah Emirate in the north of the UAE," the press service said.

The Nobu restaurant and hotel brand was created by Nobu Matsuhisa, Robert De Niro, and Meir Teper in partnership with Drew Nieporent. The chain comprises more than sixty projects worldwide.

Enevoria Development is acting as the project investor. The hotel will be located on the Al Marjan artificial archipelago. The area of the hotel will be 70,000 square meters, and will include a hotel, 300 private residences, the Nobu restaurant, event and functional spaces, a fitness center, a spa and a retail area. Vos'hod expects to complete the project in 2026.

"We are thrilled to be continuing our expansion within the UAE and the vision for Al Marjan Island aligns seamlessly with the Nobu brand. The charm of Al Marjan Island is the ideal setting for our guests and in developing a community who are seeking an authentic destination lifestyle and living experience. We are proud to partner with Enevoria on this exciting development and look forward to introducing Nobu Al Marjan Island to guests and residents alike," CEO of Nobu Hospitality Trevor Horwell said in a statement.

"Set in the heart of our iconic flagship island, the opening of Nobu reinforces Ras Al Khaimah’s credentials as a high-growth destination for international and regional investors," said Abdulla Al Abdouli, the CEO of Marjan, the Master Developer of the artificial archipelago. "We will continue to leverage global partnerships, such as Enevoria Development, to develop signature projects that elevate the Emirate’s status as a premier world-class leisure and lifestyle destination," he added.
