Polish subsidiary of Novatek obligated to transfer gas infrastructure to state companies

On April 26, Poland released its sanctions list against Russia and Belarus

WARSAW, April 29. /TASS/. Poland’s authorities have obligated the Polish subsidiary of the Russian gas producer Novatek, Novatek Green Energy, to transfer its gas infrastructure to state companies so that they could start delivering gas to regions left without gas supply after the company was put on the Polish sanctions list, the country's government spokesman Piotr Muller said on Friday.

Novatek is one of the sanctioned companies that was affected by the freezing of property, according to Muller. "Today Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki requested state companies PGNiG, PSG, Gaz-System to immediately supply gas to grids formally owned by Novatek on the basis of the crisis management law," he said.

"This firm, also at PM’s request, on the basis of the crisis management law must transfer grids to those state companies that will supply gas to the regions, where the firm related to the large Russian gas company provided its services earlier," the government spokesman added.

"The decision should be implemented immediately," he noted.

Poland released its sanctions list against Russia and Belarus on April 26. It contains 50 items, including 35 firms and 15 individuals. The Polish sanctions suggest freezing of financial assets and property of those firms, eliminating the possibility of participating in tenders, and in case of entrepreneurs - prohibiting entry to Polish territory.

On April 27, after being put on Poland’s sanctions list, Novatek Green Energy stopped supplying liquified petroleum gas to its Polish consumers, due to which several dozens of Polish gminas (minor administrative divisions in the country) were left without gas.
