Hainan traded with 179 countries and regions in January-September 2021

The main foreign trade partners of the province were the EU and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations

HAIKOU /China/, October 23. /TASS/. The southern Chinese province of Hainan traded with 179 countries and regions in the first three quarters of this year, 18 more than in the same period last year. This was reported by the Customs Administration of Haikou city (the administrative center of the province).

According to a document on the official website of the administration, the main foreign trade partners of Hainan province were the EU and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).

In the first three quarters the trade turnover between Hainan and ASEAN amounted to 16.99 billion yuan (about $ 2.65 billion at current exchange rate. The volume of trade between the Chinese province and the EU reached 15.94 billion yuan (about $2.49 billion).

According to the results of the first three quarters of 2021, the volume of foreign trade of Hainan was 101.35 billion yuan (about $15.83 billion), an increase of 60.4% year on year. In 2020 the province's foreign trade increased by 3% to 93.3 billion yuan (about $ 14.6 billion at the exchange rate at the time of publication).
