Russia repeatedly emphasized unacceptability of nuclear war — Chinese Foreign Ministry

Wang Wenbin recounted that China has always called on all nuclear powers to adhere to the principles of common security and work to uphold global strategic order and stability

BEIJING, March 13. /TASS/. The leaders of the Nuclear Five countries have been calling for preventing a nuclear war, while Moscow has repeatedly emphasized the inadmissibility of such a scenario, Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesman Wang Wenbin said, commenting on Russian President Vladimir Putin’s assurance of Russia’s military-technical readiness for a nuclear war.

"On January 5, 2022, the leaders of the [Nuclear Five] countries delivered a joint address on the prevention of nuclear war, which says that a nuclear war cannot be won, so it should not be unleashed," Wang told a briefing. "China also pointed to the fact that Russia has repeatedly confirmed its commitment to these principles."

He recounted that China has always called on all nuclear powers to adhere to the principles of common security and work to uphold global strategic order and stability.
