Iran, US hold indirect nuclear talks, says diplomat

TEHRAN, March 6. /TASS/. Iran and the United States are exchanging messages on Tehran's nuclear program through intermediaries, Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Nasser Kanani Chafi said at a press conference on Monday.

"Iran and the United States are exchanging messages through intermediaries. Mr. [IAEA Director General Rafael] Grossi's visit is part of the process of returning the parties to compliance with the provisions of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA - TASS)," the IRNA news agency quoted the diplomat as saying.

On March 3 to 4, International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Director General Rafael Grossi visited Tehran. He held two rounds of talks with Mohammad Eslami, Director of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI, and met with Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian. Grossi also held talks with the country’s President Ebrahim Raisi on Saturday. At the meeting, the IAEA head expressed his satisfaction with the joint measures worked out during the current visit, which, according to him, involved cooperation between Iran and the IAEA.
