Death toll from Israeli strikes on Iran up to 950 — Red Crescent Society

President of the Iranian Red Crescent Society Hossein Kolivand said that around 5,000 people received wounds and injuries, with 70% of them being civilians

DUBAI, July 1. /TASS/. The death toll from Israeli attacks on Iran has climbed to 950, with nearly 5,000 people being hurt, President of the Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS) Hossein Kolivand said.

"As many as 950 our fellow countrymen have died as a result of the Zionist regime’s (Israel - TASS) recent aggression against our country. Among those killed are 102 women and 38 children. Around 5,000 people received wounds and injuries, with 70% of them being civilians," the Defa Press quoted him as saying. The death toll was 935 on June 30.

According to Kolivand, a total of 377 residential houses were ruined and some 2,160 were damaged after Israeli attacks.

In the early morning hours of June 13, Israel launched a military operation against Iran. Less than 24 hours later, Iran retaliated. Nine days later, on the morning of June 22, US jets attacked three Iranian nuclear facilities, entering the conflict. The following evening, Tehran launched a missile strike on Al Udeid, the largest US military airbase in the region, located in Qatar. According to the US authorities, there were no casualties or significant damage.

On June 24, Trump announced that Israel and Iran had agreed to a complete ceasefire, which came into effects on June 24.
