TUNIS, April 20. /TASS/. Iran does not intend to engage in meaningless negotiations with the United States and expects Washington to clarify its position, Ebrahim Azizi, head of the National Security Committee of the Islamic Republic’s parliament, the Majlis, said.
"We have no concerns [regarding our participation in the negotiation process]. But we will not accept negotiations intended to kill time. The talks must lead to tangible and clear results for Iran. The US side, however, has so far failed to clearly define its position in these negotiations," he said in comments to Al Jazeera.
Esmaeil Baghaei, a spokesman for the Islamic Republic’s Foreign Ministry, said Iran has not yet decided whether it will participate in the second round of talks with the United States in Islamabad. On April 19, US President Donald Trump announced that a US delegation would arrive in Pakistan on Monday to hold discussions with Iran.
