Myanmar ready to accept foreign aid, following earthquake — PM

A total of 144 people lost their lives in Myanmar due to the earthquakes, while 732 more were injured, according to the latest reports

LONDON, March 28. /TASS/. Myanmar’s Prime Minister Min Aung Hlaing has said that his nation, which suffered from an earthquake, is ready to receive aid from "any country" and that offers by India and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) have been accepted, Reuters reported.

According to the news agency, he urged foreign states during his televised address to provide assistance to his country, also warning that the death toll from the earthquake may still rise.

The earthquake struck in Myanmar on March 28. Various sources put the magnitude of the earthquake from 7.7 to 7.9. It was followed by a second large earthquake, measured at magnitude 6.4. Thailand also suffered from the disaster, with tremors felt in China and Vietnam. In Bangkok, residents of multi-story apartment buildings are being evacuated. According to the latest information, at least eight people have died and more than 110 are missing in Thailand’s capital.
