Sandu's and her party's policies conflict with Moldova's national interests, Dodon says

According to the ex-president, Moldova should be led by politicians "who will put the interests of the country and the people first, preserve and strengthen neutrality"

CHISINAU, March 17. /TASS/. The President of Moldova, Maia Sandu, and her ruling Party of Action and Solidarity (PAS) are pursuing policies that clash with the country's national interests, former Moldovan President, leader of the Party of Socialists, Igor Dodon wrote on his Telegram channel.

"PAS lives in a parallel reality. Maia Sandu hopes for [European Commission President] Ursula von der Leyen and [French President] Emmanuel Macron, but she does not understand that at some point, when they feel threatened, they will also switch allegiance. The current government blindly follows the "cheat sheet" that globalists wrote for them several years ago. Even if you look at the conflict between [US President Donald] Trump and [Vladimir] Zelensky in the White House - Maia Sandu was one of the first to "jump" to support Zelensky. Why did the leader of a neutral country need to do this? Most likely, she was told in Brussels to write this, and she wrote it," Dodon noted on his Telegram channel.

"The PAS policy does not align with our national interests," he believes. According to the ex-president, Moldova should be led by politicians "who will put the interests of the country and the people first, preserve and strengthen neutrality."

Earlier, Dodon noted that Sandu and PAS are puppets of globalists and the Soros Foundation, to whom the Trump administration is negative. He pointed out, in particular, that Trump mentioned the financing by USAID of the media and propaganda projects of the Moldovan government.

As stated by Deputy Secretary of the Russian Security Council, Alexey Shevtsov, USAID has allocated approximately $650 million to Moldova from 2021 to 2024 to keep the country under the control of Western powers. He drew attention to the fact that, on direct instructions from Brussels, "there is a not at all democratic purge of the Moldovan political field, including the banning of parties and the persecution of their functionaries."
