MINSK, March 10. /TASS/. Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has appointed Alexander Turchin as the country's Prime Minister, the BelTA news agency reported.

Previously, Turchin served as the chairman of the Minsk Regional Executive Committee.

According to the Belarusian constitution, the prime minister is appointed by the president with the prior consent of the House of Representatives (the lower house of parliament - TASS). This procedure has been carried out, the news agency noted.

Alexander Turchin was born on July 2, 1975 in Novogrudok. He graduated from the Belarusian State Economic University in 2002 and from the Academy of Public Administration in 2009. He began his professional career in 1997.
