BEIRUT, December 19. /TASS/. The Shia Hezbollah party has condemned the attack by Israel and the US on Yemen during which civilian facilities were struck and civilians were killed, the statement by the movement published on its Telegram channel said.
"The Israeli and US strikes on Yemen are an act of aggression against all Arab peoples and the Islamic nation, and are a gross violation of international and humanitarian norms," the text reads.
Hezbollah views Israel's actions as a continuation of the war against Lebanon, Syria and Palestine, backed by the Yemeni Houthi rebel Ansar Allah movement, which is part of the pro-Iranian axis of resistance. "The Israeli enemy is unable to accomplish its strategic objectives, incapable of countering precision strikes by Yemeni soldiers, which have exposed weaknesses in its defenses," the statement emphasized.
On Thursday morning, Israel launched a massive attack on Houthi targets inside Yemeni territory. Shortly before, the Israeli military reported intercepting a missile launched from Yemen at Tel Aviv.
According to Ansar Allah, civilian structures in the capital city of Sanaa and the Hodeidah province were targeted. At least nine people were killed in the Israeli attack, the Al Masirah TV channel reported.
On December 17, the United States Central Command (CENTCOM) reported a precision airstrike on a key Houthi command post in Sanaa. The building allegedly served as a coordination center for Houthi attacks on US Navy ships and commercial vessels in the Red Sea.
