PARIS, March 15. /TASS/. French President Emmanuel Macron said in an interview with the France 2 television that he was ready to discuss settlement of the Ukrainain conflict, but sees no opportunities for talks at this point.
"I am absolutely ready for discussions at any time, but we need someone sincere and peace-oriented to do that. These preconditions do not exist today," Macron said.
At the same time, he reiterated that Paris "will be ready to make decisions necessary to prevent Russia’s victory."
The Russian authorities have repeatedly stated their readiness to negotiate with Ukraine on the conflict settlement. Meanwhile, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova drew attention to the fact that the main obstacles keeping this from happening are Zelensky's decree forbidding negotiations with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
