BERLIN, March 14. /TASS/. The hypothetic shipment of Taurus missiles to Ukraine would have only prolonged the conflict, Tino Chrupalla, co-chairman of the Alternative for Germany (AfD) Party, said speaking at the Bundestag.

"A shipment of Taurus missiles would mean prolonging the war," he said. According to the politician, this "poses a threat to Germany."

"So far, we have not been seen as a side of the war. We ask the chancellor to consistently continue the current course on this issue. Don’t let the warmongers blackmail you," Chrupalla said.

"We need peace achieved via any peaceful means," the politician noted. "Right now, we must talk about how to discuss the resolution options at a negotiation table."

At the same time, he condemned Russia’s actions.

Previously, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz repeatedly rejected the option to send Taurus missiles to Kiev. According to the chancellor, it would take involvement of the German troops to use these missiles efficiently, and this is the line he is unwilling to cross.
