UK agency says ship hit by missile off Yemen

The British maritime security company Ambrey said the ship could be owned by the US and operated under the flag of the Marshall Islands

LONDON, January 15. /TASS/. UK Maritime Trade Operations said it received a report that a missile hit a ship 95 nautical miles southeast of the city of Aden in Yemen.

The missile hit from above, the agency said, providing no other details. UKMTO advised vessels to exercise caution when transiting the area.

The British maritime security company Ambrey said the ship could be owned by the US and operated under the flag of the Marshall Islands. Reuters reported, citing preliminary information, that no one was hurt in the attack. Ambrey suggested the missile could have been fired by the Houthis, a Yemeni rebel group also known as Ansar Allah, in response to recent bombings by the US and the UK.
