BRUSSELS, November 22. /TASS/. NATO has already increased its military contingent in Kosovo by 1,000 people, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said during a press conference in North Macedonia, according to the NATO press office.

"We have deployed 1,000 additional troops to Kosovo," Stoltenberg said, adding that NATO finds the destabilization of the situation in Kosovo concerning.

Meanwhile, he underscored that NATO sees no direct military threat for Balkan states, including NATO member states, but the alliance is concerned over the growing tensions in Kosovo and in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Previously, the alliance announced relocation of additional forces from Romania and the UK to Kosovo.

At the beginning of this year, the alliance had about 4,500 troops in Kosovo.
