Russian Emergencies Ministry delivers another batch of humanitarian aid to Gaza residents

The flight was carried out on the orders of the Russian president and the head of the Emergencies Ministry

EL-ARISH, November 10. /TASS/. A Russian Emergencies Ministry IL-76 aircraft has delivered another batch of humanitarian aid for the population of the Gaza Strip to Egypt's El-Arish, a TASS correspondent reported.

A special aircraft of the Russian Emergencies Ministry landed at the El-Arish airport. Twenty-five tons of cargo were on board: food, personal hygiene products, clothes, portable stoves and blankets. After unloading, the aid will be handed over to representatives of the Egyptian Red Crescent Society for delivery to Gaza.

The flight was carried out on the orders of the Russian president and the head of the Emergencies Ministry. This is the fourth batch of humanitarian aid sent by Russia to the Gaza Strip after tensions escalated there. Previously, about 115 tons of cargoes were delivered: food, medicines, bandages, mattresses, pillows and personal hygiene products.

Tensions flared up again in the Middle East on October 7 when Hamas militants staged a surprise attack on Israeli territory from the Gaza Strip, killing residents of Israeli border settlements and taking hostages, including women, children and the elderly. Hamas described its attack as a response to the aggressive actions of Israeli authorities against the Al-Aqsa Mosque on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem’s Old City. Israel has announced a total blockade of the Gaza Strip and has been delivering air strikes on Gaza as well as some parts of Lebanon and Syria. Clashes are also underway in the West Bank.
