TOKYO, February 24. /TASS/. The Group of Seven leaders have begun their first online talks this year, the Sky News television channel reported on Friday.
Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky is taking part in the talk at the invitation of the prime minister of Japan, which hold G7 presidency in 2023.
Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida said earlier on Friday that the G7 leaders could agree further sanctions against Russia. He stressed that the Group of Severn will continue efforts to make third countries stop their military support for Russia. He did nor say however which countries he meant.
Japan is holding G& presidency in 2023 and will organize a summit in Hiroshima in May. Touching on Zelensky’s possible participation in the Hiroshima summit, he refrained from a direct answer, saying that the G7 will continue all-round support for Ukraine and direct contact with the Ukrainian authorities.
