MOSCOW, November 12. /TASS/. Two people have been killed and six injured in a blast near Lebanon’s embassy to Damascus, the SANA news agency reported on Tuesday.
The agency said that this casualty report was a preliminary one. According to the report, competent authorities have launched the investigation into the incident.
The building, which was targeted in the attack, is a civilian facility located in the center of the Syrian capital near Damascus University and a number of foreign embassies.
Earlier, Reuters reported that Syria’s army had opened fire on a "hostile target" near Daraya, a suburb southwest of Damascus. The report gave no details on the target and whether it was hit.
Al-Hadath TV channel earlier reported that one of commanders of radical Palestinian group Islamic Jihad in the Gaza Strip, Akram al-Ajouri, was killed in an Israeli air strike on a building in western Damascus. The building was located near the Lebanese embassy in the Syrian capital.
