Germany may bid to host 2036 Summer Olympic Games — daily

Germany hosted Summer Olympic Games twice - in 1936 (Berlin) and in 1972 (Munich)

MOSCOW, April 4. /TASS/. The Senate of Berlin plans submitting a bid for the German capital to host the 2036 Summer Olympic Games, Germany’s Bild daily reported on Tuesday.

"We see it as a great opportunity for Berlin, which we want to use," the daily quoted a statement from one of the leading German political parties.

"After the Games, renovated and modernized sports facilities will be available for various sports in Berlin," the statement added.

After Tokyo was home to the Olympic flame at the 2020 Summer Games, it will travel to Paris for the Summer Games in 2024, and then to Los Angeles in 2028. In 2021, at the 138th IOC (the International Olympic Committee) session in Tokyo, Australia’s Brisbane was selected to host the 2032 Summer Olympic Games.
