US attempts to fuel Ukraine conflict cannot change battlefield trends — Kremlin spokesman

Washington announced another $725 million military aid package for Ukraine on Monday

MOSCOW, December 3. /TASS/. The current US administration seeks to continue the conflict in Ukraine, but no aid packages can alter the situation on the battlefield, which is in Russia’s favor, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.

"The current [US] administration seeks to achieve its own goals and pursues a policy aimed at preventing the war from slowing down. The administration is doing everything possible to stoke the fire," Peskov told reporters, commenting on another US aid package to Ukraine worth $725 million.

"However, this or any other aid package cannot change the course of events or affect battlefield trends," the Kremlin spokesman pointed out.

Washington announced another $725 million military aid package for Ukraine on Monday. The Pentagon said in a statement that the US had committed more than $62 billion in security assistance to Ukraine since the beginning of the Biden administration, including around $61.4 billion since the start of Moscow’s special military operation.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has repeatedly stressed that weapons supplies to Ukraine would not change the situation on the frontline but would only prolong the conflict.
