Putin and Tokayev will have one-on-one communication and an extended meeting will take place as well, the minister noted

ASTANA, November 7. /TASS/. A solid set of documents consisting of several dozens of joint documents is being readied for the meeting between Russian and Kazakh presidents, Vladimir Putin and Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, in Astana, and a detailed political statement by heads of the two countries is planned, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said at a meeting with students of the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

"The state visit is being readied. <…> Our approach to organization of this very important event of the year is really thorough. A detailed political statement by the two leaders, as well as several dozens of joint documents on issues of trade, economic, investment, cultural, humanitarian, education cooperation, are being readied. This is going to be a very solid package ensuring the details of the top-level meeting," he said.

Putin and Tokayev will have one-on-one communication and an extended meeting will take place as well, the minister noted. "As usual, the presidents will discuss issues that our Kazakh friends have on their agenda, that we have on our agenda, with all this forming the common agenda of the two countries as a rule. Obviously, it is going to be a summit where a confidential conversation between the presidents will take place as usual, and an extended meeting will be held as well, same as other events that will emphasize the peculiar nature of our alliance and strategic partnership," Lavrov said.

"I can assure you that the results of the summit and the documents signed once they are implemented, which will start immediately after the top-level meeting ends, will play a positive role in further deepening of our relations in all areas. This also concerns the cooperation between Russia and Kazakhstan in international organizations," the minister noted, adding that he has "very positive expectations from the summit."
