Russia to sign agreements on information security with Venezuela, Laos — diplomat

Sergey Ryabokon also noted that agreements with Iran, Myanmar, Uzbekistan and Ethiopia are expected to come into force this year

SOCHI, April 16. /TASS/. Russia will sign cooperation agreements in the sphere of information security with Venezuela and Laos in the coming months, Sergey Ryabokon, chief advisor of the Russian Foreign Ministry's Department for International Information Security, said.

"Agreements with Iran, Myanmar, Uzbekistan and Ethiopia are expected to come into force this year. In the coming months, we expect to get similar agreements signed with Venezuela and Laos," he said at the 2024 Infoforum-Sochi.

Ryabokon recalled that relevant intergovernmental agreements in this area are currently in force "with such countries as Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Vietnam, Zimbabwe, India, Indonesia, Kyrgyzstan, China, Cuba, Nicaragua, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan and Vietnam."

The "Infoforum" National Information Security Forum is one of the biggest annual IT events in Russia. This year it is being held in Sochi from April 15 to 18 and is already in its eleventh year. The theme of the forum is to create a plan to develop digital security technologies through 2030.
