MOSCOW, November 27. /TASS/. Relations between Russia and Brazil are stable and not vulnerable to time-serving considerations, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said at the opening of an exhibition timed for the 195th anniversary of bilateral diplomatic relations.
"The ties between our countries are developing in the vein of strategic partnership, which is sustainable and not opportunistic in nature. The task to strengthen cooperation with Brazil was written down as a special clause in Russia’s Foreign Policy Concept updated six months ago," Lavrov said.
He pointed out that Moscow and Brasilia "maintain an active political dialogue of trust."
"Permanent mechanisms of bilateral cooperation are functioning, first of all, the high-level commission and its intergovernmental commissions on trade and economic cooperation and political issues," Lavrov stressed.
"Practical cooperation is being strengthened. Brazil is the front-runner in trade with Russia among the Latin American and Caribbean states. The key areas of joint efforts are chemical industry and agriculture. Joint projects in energy, including nuclear power, pharmaceuticals and peaceful uses of space are very promising," he stated said.
